The U.S. House of Representatives voted 219-212 Friday in favor of a cap and trade carbon credit scheme. If it becomes law, it will cost every American citizen more money in the form of taxes. Can I be frank with my fellow journalists? Your coverage of so-called “global warming” over the past 15 years has been a shameful piece of propaganda. I want to keep this brief tonight, so I won’t go much further than that.
It’s been an interesting phenomenon to see new reporters coming out of J-school and into the newsroom for the past few years. Without fail, every one of them is a die-hard, true believer in global warming. I haven’t met one yet who hasn’t been trained throughout college that global warming is real, man-made, and an imminent threat that must be dealt with. They’ll rattle through their talking points, and when they’re through I point out that I’m a Christian and therefore I don’t subscribe to the notion that man is sovereign over the earth. Without a hint of irony, they don’t seem to get the point.
For all the journalists out there, let me be very, very clear: I don’t have any other journalists in my family. I don’t have many friends in the journalism community. Most of my family and friends are real people, with professions outside of our shallow, egotistical profession, and not a single one of them believes in global warming. Outside of the field of journalism, college professors, and public school students, it’s rare for me to meet a single person who believes that “climate change” is really happening. The number of scientific critics of the UNPROVEN THEORY is growing. Please do yourself a favor and read today’s piece in the Wall Street Journal. (HT: Vox Day)
Furthermore, please stop using the line, “There is no more debate! Global warming is happening.” It was already a cliche five years ago, and most people realize that the “debate” over it never actually happened. If the scales suddenly HAVE fallen off your eyes, perhaps doing some research of your own will help:
